Overview
The Department of Agriculture Engineering, established in 2019, offers 4 years BE- Agriculture Engineering course.
This department is equipped with state of the art laboratory facilities with highly qualified Faculty members.
The department has all the laboratories that are prescribed by the Anna University for the entire four years of study.
The department also offers on - field visits to various farms. To impart the knowledge on crop cultivation aspects from seed to harvest,
the department has a 5 acres farm along with well-equipped soil science and other labs.
The department offers hands-on training for students from first year onwards on latest agriculture engineering technologies.
VISION
To develop Agriculture Engineering professionals, create and disseminate knowledge, and promote
the application of engineering principles to meet societal needs with respect to agricultural, farm mechanization, irrigation,
soil and water conservations, agriculture processing and natural resource systems etc.
MISSION
- • To achieve excellence in the curriculum planning pertaining to agriculture engineering by periodical updating in order to develop the students with sound technical knowledge.
- • To strengthen the research activities in agriculture engineering by proposing innovative and application oriented projects for the development of agriculture and allied sectors.
- • To establish the necessary infrastructure to meet the industrial, and R & D needs
- • To make graduates blossom into entrepreneurs, scientists and academicians for sustained food production so as to meet the ever increasing population’s food needs.
