The department of EEE has organized a One Week Value Added Course on “PLC and SCADA” 18th to 23rd February 2019. The Chief Guest Er.R.Dineshkumar, Software Engineer, ioLOGIX Automation Solutions, explained about the difference between PLC and SCADA, Industrial application, PLC and SCADA programming, monitoring, how it works together in a particular application, recent applications using SCADA and PLC etc., PLC is essentially a hardware based system. It is nothing but a computer designed for one specific task of reading field instruments and controlling actuators, motors, etc. based on what program is written in it. The PLC hardware is designed to take into account harsh industrial environments, requirements of modularity and scalability, etc. Students felt it was the easiest software to design, Programming languages are simple as compared to other software. 85 students from III and IV year of our department were participated in this value added course. They were learning how design and practical implementation in design board, students can utilize that one week very effectively.
